Hi Everybody! This is Pranav here and today we are going to be learning how to play the magnificent board game of chess. It is pretty simple to learn the basics but if you want to become a master at the game there is a vast amount of things you need to learn. Let's get started. The chess board is a 8x8 checkered board consisting of 64 squares. There are 6 different types of pieces, pawn, bishop, knight, rook, queen, and king. The bishop, knight, and rook come in pairs. There are 8 pawns and 1 of the king and queen. These 16 pieces are one players pieces. They are white or black. The other player will have, all of these pieces but in the opposite color. In the starting position the pawns will be on  the second row and the other pieces will be on the back row like this.   Now the pawn can move one square at a time except at the starting. Hi Everybody! Today we're covering some stuff you can do to increase your chess rating. 1. Go to regular chess tournaments There are many places you can go and have fun playing games with others. It's also a great place to increase your chess rating. You can also get a trophy at some tournaments. There are also state chess championships and nationals held every year. 2. Practice tactics puzzles Practicing tactic puzzles is great to learn new chess tactics and new ways to think in chess. Some websites to do tactic puzzles are lichess.org and chess.com. Some software to do tactic puzzles is CT-ART and TASC CD. Some books are 5334 problems, combinations, and games. 3. Learn openings and endgames Learning openings and endgames are essential to increase your chess rating. Openings help you have a better position and have an advantage over your opponent. Knowing endgames helps you checkmate or if you are losing, making the game a draw. That's it for this post! S
